      ─── ❝✶: Kira was a bit amused by the brunette’s reaction and couldn’t help the little smile that formed on his lips. Though, with the suddenness of him inviting her for a drink didn’t ruin any plans the young woman had for the day.

   ❝I think the same.❞ Kira agreed. ❝Is it? Perhaps I should give it a shot.❞ he commented he really hasn’t explored Starbucks menu outside of getting their chai tea latte. ❝Shall we?❞ was said as he made a gesture towards the cash registers so they could pay for their respective purchases and be on their way.

        “oh, oh—sure!” once the idol has decided what to do next, she just followed him, since she was already done with her business earlier. she observes that everyone around them is rather busy with their own business, not minding that there’s an idol among the crowd. is this her lucky day, perhaps?

        getting rid of her hesitance, she tries to speak up first. “er… excuse me, sumeragi-san, but i haven’t told you my name. it’s kasuga renge.” and now to proceed with something else that’s potentially even more embarrassing…

       “also, this might sound a little bit too sudden but do you mind taking a selfie?” oh no, she feels she might be too blatant about it. he doesn’t seem to be the type that likes it too since she never really sees selfies of him in instagram ( not like he has it either ) “i mean—if you don’t want to that’s also okay—”

      ─── ❝✶: ❝Is that so?❞ Kira said as he took another look at the book he had put back on the shelf a moment earlier and picked it up back up. ❝I’ll take your word on it.❞ the book was then tucked under his arm. ❝Would you like to join me for a drink?❞ by that he meant either coffee or tea at the nearest cafe.

          clutching to the two young adult-themed novels she bought earlier, her eyes widened at his offer in disbelief. “wait, really?” trying to control her excitement, she struggled to keep herself composed. her friends are sure gonna be jealous of her. “i-i sure don’t mind!” well, she was going to spend some time in the game center, but things have sure changed immediately. a chance meeting with a popular idol like this couldn’t go to waste.

           “ummm, the nearest starbucks would be nice, don’t you think sumeragi-san? the sakura latte from starbucks has been a huge hit during the spring lately.”

           “this is a random question, but as your fan, i’m curious! it’s about that new kitten you just adopted, kiryuin-san—” if anyone would ask, she has a huge amount of following list in instagram mainly comprised of celebrities, including some of the national heartthrobs. it’s fun to observe them in their social media. even some are very down-to-earth about themselves. it’s great, really.

        “i may look delicate, but that doesn’t mean i can’t defend myself when needed.” in comparison to a foreigner’s taller physique and facial feature, yes–she may look fragile and delicate as a flower petal but for a regular human endowed with spiritual powers, she would be a force to be reckoned with. “i can help you, if you need a helping hand.”

Ren-san ;

                it was amazing how a name had such IMPACT on him. he knew about the possibilities of listening to it someday, but so far in his 26 years of life, he never heard it aside from people referring to his MOTHER. it was a name that provoked SADNESS on him. “lotus flower…” he muttered under his breath as soon as he was saying the meaning of her name. it was something he was aware of, a name that he cared for DEEPLY and gave him a slight happiness about those moments that he wasn’t able to enjoy. the sudden change on his mood being OBVIOUS as it was something he couldn’t easily hide. 

                he noticed it as well, was when he tried to regain his composure again. a sad smile appearing on his lips. “pleasured to meet you, renge-chan. ren can be read also as lotus flowers, but mine can be read as love. we do have similar names, i’m named after my mother, her name was renge too.” 

         “hawawa—what? really? do i?! t-that’s an honor—ah—” the moment she heard about that, her expression turned into a sheer surprised look. but then, she noticed that for a moment, his expression turned melancholic. like he was reminded of something—sorrowful. like she was trying to tread on something she wasn’t supposed to. ah.

          “i—i think i’ve touched upon a sensitive subject right there, ren-san… i-i’m sorry.” if her hunch was correct based on one article she read somewhere in the internet, then he probably lost a mother figure. just like her. of course, no one should be ignorant enough to bring that up to anyone !! god, she just had to be a fool like that in front of her favorite artist! now how to divert the subject…

            “b-but still!” she continued, trying to finally divert the subject. “i’ve been a fan since STARISH debuted and i remember i was quite… ecstatic when i knew i almost shared the same name as one of the members,” it was a coincidence, if so she believed, but a rather cute one. her elementary schooler self was pretty cringe-worthy, she knew that well. sometimes she felt like she hadn’t gotten through the cringey period! “it’s a pleasure to meet you in person too! you’re just as pleasant as everyone says. just wanna say, even as a solo artist, i still like your work as well! it feels like you’re being more true to yourself.”

         “umm.. and i think, your mother would be really proud of your achievements right now, ren-san!”

          wow, what a smooth guy! –that’s what she thought. colors of bright red tinted her cheeks, feeling a little bit overwhelmed with his approach. turned out the idol is pretty much what she imagined him to be like; smooth-talking and charming.

         “ah, i’m sorry for not mentioning it earlier. my name is renge—kasuga renge. nice to meet you!” she introduced herself, followed with a traditional bow as a respectful gesture towards her seniors.  “… oh, renge, as in… lotus flowers!” she couldn’t be more proud of her name. a meaningful one she got from her late mom as well.
